TraineryHCM sends notifications across five categories: performance notifications (review cycle deadlines, rating submission reminders, calibration session alerts), goal and OKR updates (check-in reminders, goal deadline alerts), learning notifications (course assignment alerts, credential expiry warnings, training enrollment confirmations), compensation notifications (merit cycle open alerts, approval requests), and system notifications (new content published, IDP updates, manager action required flags).

Can employees and managers customize their notification preferences?

Yes. Each user in TraineryHCM can configure their notification preferences in their account settings, choosing which notification types to receive, at what frequency (immediate, daily digest, or weekly summary), and through which channel (in-app, email, Slack, or Microsoft Teams). HR administrators can set minimum notification standards for time-sensitive items such as review deadlines and compliance training expiries, ensuring critical alerts are always delivered regardless of individual preferences.

Does TraineryHCM integrate with Slack and Teams for notifications?

Yes. TraineryHCM integrates natively with Slack and Microsoft Teams to deliver performance, learning, and HR notifications directly in the communication tools employees already use. Review deadline reminders, check-in prompts, course assignment alerts, and IDP update notifications can be routed to individual Slack DMs or Teams messages. This significantly improves response rates compared to email-only notifications, particularly for managers with high email volumes.

How do review deadline reminders work in TraineryHCM?

When an HR administrator opens a performance review cycle, they configure the cycle timeline including self-assessment deadlines, manager review deadlines, and calibration dates. TraineryHCM automatically calculates and sends reminder notifications at configurable intervals before each deadline, for example 7 days, 3 days, and 1 day before the due date. If a review is incomplete when the deadline passes, an overdue alert is sent to both the responsible party and their HR business partner.

How do credential expiry notifications work?

TraineryHCM sends automated credential expiry alerts to employees, their managers, and HR administrators at 90 days, 60 days, and 30 days before a certification expires. If a credential expires without renewal, an overdue compliance alert is triggered. Alert intervals are configurable by credential type and by organizational policy. For critical safety certifications, HR teams can set daily alerts in the final week before expiry to ensure renewal is not missed.

Can HR administrators send bulk notifications to specific employee groups?

Yes. TraineryHCM's notification management console allows HR administrators to send targeted bulk communications to specific employee segments: all employees with overdue training, all managers who have not completed their review cycle submissions, all employees in a specific department, or all employees with a credential expiring within 30 days. Bulk notifications can be sent as in-app messages, emails, or Slack and Teams messages depending on the administrator's configuration.

Are notifications logged for compliance purposes?

Yes. All system-generated and administrator-triggered notifications in TraineryHCM are recorded in the platform's audit log with a timestamp, recipient list, notification content, and delivery status. HR teams can generate notification delivery reports for compliance documentation, such as demonstrating that all employees received a required training enrollment notice or that all managers were notified of a review deadline before the cycle closed. Delivery failure alerts are also logged automatically.

How does TraineryHCM handle notification overload?

TraineryHCM prevents notification fatigue through two mechanisms. First, users can configure digest preferences to bundle multiple notifications into a daily or weekly summary instead of receiving individual alerts. Second, HR administrators can review notification volume reports to identify if specific cycle configurations are generating excessive alerts and adjust reminder cadences accordingly.
